BlogThis! test
This link is what originally messed up my previous site. Don't know why I continue to torture myself by trying it again, but I just need to check if it works...
bathroom (...or to my American friends - washroom) breaks
I hate it when someone else is in the bathroom when I need to go. Ours is set up with just 2 stalls - one normal-squishy-sized one, and another larger one. I usually go into the larger one since it's close to the wall, and no one can see your feet. Anyway, this morning, I really had to go. So, since I don't have any problems using the work bathroom, unlike some, I use ours quite often. Anyway, when I walked in this a.m., someone was already in the larger stall. Crap (pardon the pun!)!!!...what should I do? Should I just pretend I was in there to wash my hands or should I just go? I decided to just go, since I didn't think I knew who was in there with me. Stage fright. Sorry folks, no action here...I didn't want to sit there any longer than I had to, so I just got up, washed my hands, and left.
Attempt #2...I was in the clear. No one was in the bathroom. BUT - just as I was ready to do my business, someone walks in. MAN! I decided to wait because she couldn't see my feet anyway, but I could see hers! This time, I think she got stage fright because she left pretty much as soon as she got there. I was left in peace and quiet. Needless to say, I feel better now.
heart burn
Since N was in Toronto all last week and ate fast food pretty much everyday, he was craving some Asian food, so we decided to cook. We bought a bunch of groceries and decided to go Malaysian. His version of chicken and corn soup, Nasi Goreng (Malaysian fried rice), and Sambal greens (green beans with shrimp, tomato, and shrimp paste) were on the menu. I couldn't wait! I bought some pre-made paste for the greens, since I thought it would be harder to re-invent it. When I was done, it looked just like the kind you order at the restaurant. It smelled just like it, too. When we went to eat it...oooh...was it spicy! I did sample it while I was cooking, but it didn't seem too spicy at that time. I don't normally eat spicy things because it burns my tongue and can't really taste what I'm eating, so this is why it probably seemed spicier that it was. It was good, tho'!
Then, last night, we couldn't figure out what to make for dinner, and I found this jar of Malaysian curry paste. I decided to use it. It called for half a can of coconut milk and the entire jar of the paste. I used a full can of coconut milk and 2.5 tbsp. of the paste. Okay. If I thought the beans were spicy, this one was 2000 times spicier! N and I had a bowl, but couldn't finish the entire pot I made, so I called up "sook-sook" (apparently he loves my chicken curry - but adds hot sauce to it), and asked if he wanted it. He was there in less than 5 minutes! At least it didn't go to waste!

Interesting Bev....never heard that one before. I just do the obligatory flush to drown out the noise and get rid of the immediate stench. It wastes a little water but saves a lot of embarrasment.
