post long overdue
I know, I know…it’s been a while. A lot has happened these past few weeks!!!
We were busy packing all our stuff for our move, the move happened, started unpacking just as quick as we were packing…then tried to find some time to actually ‘settle in’. Our place is coming along. It’s awesome to finally be in ‘our own’ place again! It’s still pretty quiet, since the final phase in front of us isn’t finished yet, so there aren’t too many people around. The first few nights were pretty rough. Thank God we were on holiday! We were extremely tired from the move, but kept working at it to get things organized. We couldn’t quite sleep well because we knew there was so much left to do, and the fact that all our stuff was there, we were in a dark area, security was a big factor for Nick. He got up every time he heard something…Anyway, after our security system was installed, he slept better, but we realized a week after we had moved in that our back sliding door lock was never working!!! OMG! Nick fixed this problem pretty quickly!
During that week, I did hella purging with all our stuff! I figured, I hadn’t seen some of this stuff in 2 years…do I really want to keep them? For example clothes, old tupperware, clothes, pursed, more clothes…, belts (which I never wear anyway), house clothes, etc, etc…It definitely felt good to get rid of things. It’s amazing tho’ – you think you have everything, so you start purging…only to go out and buy new things…oh well…that will all come to a screeching halt this Friday…when our 1st mortgage comes out! Hi reality – can’t say I’ve missed this part!
So much to think about – our ‘painting party’ will come along when we’re more organized. Even tho’ I want to tackle this right now – I can’t!!! My mind needs to rest!
Nick also bought a new lap top. I need to get used to this thing! I have to remember that I don’t have to lock myself in the room it’s in because it’s portable!!! What a concept! To be able to watch my Filipino shows from anywhere!! I’ve only taken it out of the computer room once!
Housing audio equipment – done. We decided to buy a book shelf thing and just put them there. We have a tones of photo albums that need a place, too, so I guess it serves dual purpose. I’m not sure Nick’s satisfied with it, tho’…
So, what else? I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in BOTH wrists, that I am now going to physio and massage for. Apparently, I might have already had it, but aggravated it with the move. It’s the worst feeling! Now, I have to wear wrist splints when I go to bed – which aren’t the most comfy…but helps.
Work is almost done for me. I managed to get it 2 extra weeks in July, for wind things down. I don’t mind – at least I’ll get another paycheck in.
Winnipeg next month for my godmother’s 65th. I’m apparently emcee…how does one plan to be emcee if they are from another province??? Oh the trials! Do I buy a new dress or recycle one? No one there’s seen my clothes, right? Hmmm…in any case, it should be fun!
What else? Can’t think of everything right now, but things are going well – I went back to dance practice after being off for a few weeks…uh hel-lo cardio much? I filled in for BLIT…and did it over and over…torture! Man, I thought I was going to pass out!
This only proves that I need to get back in to shape. Period.

Congratulations on the new place, and it was good to see you in the studio. Great job on BLIT -- you're now doing it for Dragon Boat Festival and Dance Allsorts...
