talented flips

Since staying at my parents place all last week and watching some shows from the Philippines, I subscribed to this when I got home. I've tapped in to the shows I wish I had TFC for... for a fraction of the cost! It's only $4.95 (USD) per month! If you've got a good computer, it'll be good enough - if you don't mind watching from your monitor. So, while watching the variety shows, I've come to realize that Filipino's are very talented. I mean, I've always known we we're talented, but it kind of just hit me that the talent doesn't just stop at singing or acting. Minus the few exceptions who try to be the ultimate "triple-threat", J-Lo style, and fail, there are also a lot who succeed. I just read somewhere, too, that Vancouver has a local filipino fashion designer (his name slips my mind...Manuel something), who has some very pretty designs and getting more exposure. Speaking of design, Bev's got a post on Tin's sisters designs...PURSES!!!

We're all singers, dancers, actors, performers, artists, designers...and might I add, not bad looking...! The list could go on for days. Although my everything is here, I wish I could go to the Philippines and experience the lifestyle... or just be picked to appear on a game show like Darleen's brother did while he was visiting! He got picked out of the audience for Wowowee. The host said to his people, "humanap kayo ng kalbo!!" and the rest is history! The only time I'd ever gone was when I was 5. A lot has changed, and friends keep going back and forth visiting/vacationing. I hope I get the chance someday. And if I run into any really HOT actors, I hope I have the courage to say something!
