After being at our place for just over a month now, we've realized a few things:
~ Our contractors are terrible. We have yet to hear from anyone to follow up on the 'deficiency' list from our unit. We run in to them from time to time, and they don't even turn their head to say hello.
~ We only need to cook 2 or 3 times a week. Initially, we were cooking almost everyday, then bringing left overs to work for lunch the next day. We always ended up throwing the rest of it out later in the week because we didn't feel like 'it' anymore.
~ Go grocery shopping on an 'as needed' basis. I would prefer to have a fridge half full, using what we need at that time, with little waste, than a jam packed full fridge with rotting veggies, molding fruits, and old freezer burnt food.
~ We can't do it all. Some things will just have to wait. Like painting, finding added furniture, decorating...until we have more time, money, and energy!!!
Overall, I think we're adjusting quite well. I'm looking forward to the summer when I can spend all day wondering what I want to tackle first from my TO DO list. Yippee!

Congrats to you, N and L! Having your own place is always much more fun & comfy to run around or just lounge!
Girl, don't worry about the decorating.. we have been at our house for a year...no curtains, the 3 rooms that painted are still the only 3 rooms, and every room is just a hodge podge of decorations!!! hehehe

I used to work for a contracting company that built condos in the lower mainland. As a receptionist, I always got calls from people who bought the condos and had deficiencies. Yes, we had a deficiency guy but we weren't allowed to give out his phone number. It's crazy but that guy sure was busy but he does get to you eventually. It can take more than a year sometimes to get something fixed because they are that backed up. My advice is to keep contacting them and bugging them until they get to you. Otherwise they're likely to forget...
