sushi

When we lived in Richmond, finding Asian food was so easy because the majority of Richmond population was Asian. Since moving to Surrey, we’ve found a couple of not-bad Asian restaurants, but no place to get good sushi. When we had cravings, we would go to Matsuyama (in Richmond), which served Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine, but they recently had a fire and have been closed till who knows. We were absolutely traumatized! I know some Likettes may remember Richmond Sushi…! Anyway, there is a little place that opened up close to us, which has pretty good sushi, sized like the one’s you get at Samurai in Vancouver (HUGE pieces), for a decent price, i.e.: cheap. We weren’t able to go there last night because we were in Langley, so it would have taken us 25 extra minutes to drive there. So, we decided to stop by a small sushi restaurant in Langley. Note: population of Asians in Langley = minimal. I won’t go in to details, but we paid tooo much for our meal. It wasn’t super good, either. I think my upset stomach this morning was because of that place. I’ll have to remind myself (and N) not to go back there.

I might just have to make up for it at lunch or dinner today!!! There are some good sushi spots by my work!

  • Tawara on #10 Highway and 152nd is fantastic. GREAT sushi... if you are looking for quality. But not super cheap - although decent. A california cone is $2.95. Chawarshi don is 12.95 but has lots oh sashimi.
