How old do I look?
The other day, Lauryn wanted to get some bubble tea, so we walked over to the shop nearby. It wasn't that far, but since we only had 1 car insured, and Nick had it, I thought to ask her if she wanted to walk the whole way or if she wanted to sit in a stroller. She opted for stroller. So we walked...and the first thing the guy behind the counter says to me is, "Hello - (pause)...is that your...(pause)...niece?...(pause)...or your sister?" I was kind of caught off guard because NO ONE, and I mean, NO ONE has asked me that EVER!!! I was like, "uh...no...this is my daughter..." He looked shocked. And just said, "Oh...o-k-, what can I get for you?" What would you make of it? Did he think I looked like I was twelve? I dunno...maybe I was having a good hair day or something.
It was funny, too, because I forgot to grab some change before we left, so I thought, no problem, they take debit. When we got there, there was a sign that said debit was out of order. Great. Now I have to fish for some change in my wallet. I managed to find $4.28. Ah maan! Bubble tea won't be that much...so I went ahead and ordered anyway, meanwhile, in my head, I was like, pleeeease don't be more than $4.28!!! I actually asked him to seperate the full size order in to 2 cups, so we could each have one, but then he says, "sure, but that'll be an extra 50 cents". I was like, "50 cents??!?! Nevermind..."
Total cost of bubble tea...$4.26! I just about died! I know I'm a little dramatic about this, but for some odd reason, I ALWAYS seem to have JUST enough change in my wallet when it comes to small stuff like this...
BTW - while I was around there, I ended up insuring our truck. 4 months with only 1 car. Not bad. I can't say it was the best arrangement, but saved a bit of $. Oh well, I only insured it for 3 months, so at least I'll have wheels while I'm off for the summer! Yup - you heard it - as you do every year around this time...I have the summer off!!! Can't wait!
Side thought - aren't soccer players H.O.T.??!!!
