halloween apples!

Am I the only one who knows this line? We used to say it instead of "trick or treat". N always makes fun of me when I try to get L to say it!!! "What's a halloween apple?!?!" I don't know! I didn't make it up! Anyway, I've never really been a big fan of Halloween. I remember back in the day when I was in elementary school when we had to dress up, and since all my friends did too, it was fun. But since then, it's just been ok. Sometimes it takes too much effort to drum up a good costume! Props to Mur and Rich for getting in to the spirit!!! I think ever since I saw Poltergeist, those damn porcelain clowns seem to have scarred my memory!!!

There's a house in Vancouver I see often. Any season, any occasion, any holiday, their house is always decorated! And I'm not talking about some simple things in the window, but actual full on house costume! Even tho' I'm not really into it, I do like seeing it from time to time. There was also this family I knew growing up that did haunted house tours in their home every year. They'd go all out and put up the best haunted house - they were always in the news...and their friends would all be in on it, scaring kids who walked thru. I wonder what they're doing now?

Anyway, we're taking L to The Great Big Boo! show tomorrow. We weren't planning on it, but since all we were going to do was take her to the mall for candy, and possibly around the block for the experience, we thought she'd enjoy a pre-Halloween show. She'll get to meet and greet Dora, too, so that should be fun. She's going to be a cheerleader this year...or maybe a genie...
